We owe this to John. He has brought so much happiness and good times to our lives.
Have two ideas and I've shot this over to the Riders. This might take some time, but there's no time limit. It would be nice if this gets completed by the one year aniversity of his passing.

No one is in charge of anything yet, this is just the talking and networking stage.

First idea: a DVD composed of still pictures and music playing in the background. My wife had one of these made for my 50th birthday, it came out really nice.

Second idea: a coffee table size book composed of lot's of pictures, a section on John growing up, a section on his pursuit of music, a section composed of stories from family, friends, and some fans, and a section composed of sheet music of his songs (his music and the music of the New Riders need to be passed on).

So, if you or somebody you know has had a close association with Marmaduke, start thinking.
Also, if you or somebody you know has experience in writing, editing, and publishing; think about any contributions you could make.

Let's make it happen, for John.

Great ideas Stormin!
I'd be glad to help any way I can, so keep me in mind when ya get this thing roll'n....

I believe the best way to honor John Dawson and his music is to get The New Riders of the Purple Sage inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! THAT is where this music belongs!!!! If you ever been there, you know it is a fabulous place and the one thing that could make it even better is the NRPS!!!!

So lets get that campain going right here!!!

NRPS in the R&R Hall of Fame? WHY THE HALL NOT?
